Taipei, Mar. 4, 2020 – Following the successful soft launch of TruFace in the middle of 2019, the hit new facial recognition line from Aratek recently received a full official launch.
“Response for TruFace has been overwhelming despite the limited publicity,” said Samuel Wu, VP for International Business Division, who added that customers have since found wide applications for the devices in law enforcement, hospitality, border security, access control and time & attendance, etc.”
TruFace is Aratek’s debut into the facial recognition segment and is touted to take security and authentication to a whole new level. It delivers face-enforced identification and authentication that is fast, accurate, and convenient. The series is powered by Aratek’s patented TrustFace algorithm, allowing live face detection that does not rely on extra hardware.
“This software-based face detection is what liberates TruFace from the limitations of hardware and makes it a truly cost-effective and reliable face-enforced solution suitable for a limitless number of uses,” Wu added.
Wu said that TruFace terminals are equipped with a built-in HDR dual-camera system that detects ambient lighting levels and then controls the near-infrared LED accordingly, allowing high quality captures in all lighting conditions, whether in a dark room or in the bright outdoors.
The line launched with three smart face recognition devices – the BA8100, BA8200 and the BD8500. All three can capture, register, and authenticate faces, and guarantee fast and accurate facial recognition anywhere.
The BA8200 and BD8500 support efficient facial and fingerprint-enabled dual-biometric authentication, giving users the flexibility of using their preferred modality depending on environmental conditions. The two models are also equipped contactless card reader and advanced fingerprint sensors that are FBI PIV-IQS and STQC certificated, making them two of the most advanced solutions for multi factor authentication in the market today.
The TrustFace algorithm also gives the TruFace terminals unparalleled anti-spoofing capabilities. It analyzes thousands of face points to ensure user presence and liveness, preventing fraud by accurately detecting photo, video or 3D model displays from a live person’s movements.
TruFace has been tested to perform 1:1 or 1:N online or offline verification with an accuracy of 99.72% on LFW face database.
